The Oar Saddle is an extremely durable product, and requires a minimal amount of maintenance. The following tips are provided to help you to keep your Oar Saddle functioning smoothly and flawlessly.
The Oar Saddle material is soft by metal standards. The Oar Saddle is not meant to be walked on or tossed around. It is designed to handle rugged environments under harsh conditions.
 | | Keep a close eye on the Teflon sleeve that the Oar Lock slides into. With extended use, | | | these will wear and need to be replaced. It does not hurt to have a couple of spares on hand as replacements (sand is the enemy!)
 | | Do not over tighten the tower base wing nuts. Tighten them just enough that they will not | | | spin free and get lost.
 | | We have attached a spare wing nut and washer to the tower just in case. It is very easy to | | | loose these and they are vital to the performance of the Oar Saddle. Replacement wing nuts are 5/16-18 (5/16” diameter and 18 threads per inch).
 | | Due to the nature and softness of the aluminum, scratches will occur. While you cannot | | | recreate the factory-finish that comes on the shipped product, if and when scratches appear, and you would like to remove them, use an orbital sander with a setting of 120 for a rougher finish, or a 320 for a fine luster finish (be careful not to sand any threaded studs). With very little effort, this will return your Oar Saddle to like-new condition.
 | | Extreme care must be taken on hot days or days when the temperature fluctuates. The | | | inflatable watercraft's tube pressure can increase and as a result, tear the fabric of your boat, and/or put pull your d-rings right out. We recommend that you check your watercraft's inflation pressure on a regular basis during operation, and maintain it within the manufacturer's acceptable pressures.
